Visit to the Natural History Museum

Today we decided to take the kids to the National History Museum in London. We took a bit of a detour around the houses on the tube as the district and circle lines were out of action. So unfortunately our one-stop journey turned into about 6 with a tube change. Once at South Kensington station after hoofing the buggy up and down various staircases we arrived at the museum. The Diplodocus skeleton in the main foyer greeted us, as always (thanks to Msword for suggesting that slight alteration to the sentence). We wasted no time and headed straight for the dinosaur exhibits. Louis found the animatronics T-Rex a little too lifelike and held on to Sally for dear life. Our next port of call was the Natural world area containing stuffed and model versions of creatures of land and sea. Megan at this point started to play up and soon got tired of walking around. We also visited the bird exhibit where we saw the ill-fated Dodo and the “creepy-crawlies” exhibit too. Finally we took the long escalator up to the top floor where we were treated to the inner workings of the earth including an earthquake simulator that Lauren enjoyed. It was altogether a good day with a few good pictures taken with my camera.
